atha padmasanam
vama uru upari dakshinam cha charanam sansthapya vamam tatha
daksh uru upari paschimena vidhina dhritva karabhyam dridham |
angushthau hridaye nidhaya chibukam nasagram alokayet
etad vyadhi vinasha kari yaminam padmasanam prochyate ||46||

अथ पद्मासनम्
वामोरूपरि दक्षिणं च चरणं संस्थाप्य वामं तथा
दक्षोरूपरि पश्चिमेन विधिना धृत्वा कराभ्यां दृढम् ।
अङ्गुष्ठौ हृदये निधाय चिबुकं नासाग्रम् आलोकयेत्
एतद् व्याधिविनाशकारि यमिनां पद्मासनं प्रोच्यते ॥४६॥

atha padmāsanam-
vām-oru-upari dakṣiṇaṁ ca caraṇaṁ saṁsthāpya vāmaṁ tathā
dakṣ-oru-upari paścimena vidhinā dhṛtvā karābhyāṁ dṛḍham |
aṅguṣṭhau hṛdaye nidhāya cibukaṁ nāsāgram ālokayet
etad vyādhi-vināśa-kāri yamināṁ padmāsanaṁ procyate ||46||

Nun wird die Lotus-Position (Padmasana) erklärt:
Der rechte Fuß wird auf dem linken Oberschenkel platzieren, analog der linke Fuß auf dem rechten Oberschenkel;
Die Hände werden [nun] weit hinter dem Rücken überkreuzt, bis [sie] zu den großen Zehen [fassen]. Das Kinn wird auf dem Herzen platziert. Man soll [ferner] zur Nasenspitze blicken. Dies bewirkt die Auflösung aller Krankheiten und ist bei den Yogis bekannt. ||46||
