prasarya padau bhuvi danda rupau
dorbhyam pada agra dvitayam grihitva |
janu upari nyasta lalata desho
vased idam paschimatanam ahuh ||30||

प्रसार्य पादौ भुवि दण्डरूपौ
दोर्भ्यां पदाग्रद्वितयं गृहीत्वा ।
जानूपरिन्यस्तललाटदेशो
वसेद् इदं पश्चिमतानम् आहुः ॥३०॥

prasārya pādau bhuvi daṇḍa-rūpau
dorbhyāṁ pada-agra-dvitayaṁ gṛhītvā |
jānu-upari-nyasta-lalāṭa-deśo
vased idaṁ paścimatānam āhuḥ ||30||

Die Beine [sind] gestreckt auf dem Boden wie ein Stock,
die Unterarme halten [dabei] die beiden Fußspitzen. |
Die Stirn ist auf den Knien platziert
In dieser Position verweilt [der Yogi]. [Sie] wird Pashchimatanasana genannt. ||30||

bhuvi (भुवि, bhuvi) = Untergrund
danda (दण्ड, daṇḍa) = Stock
rupau (रूपौ, rūpau) = wie
dorbhyam (दोर्भ्याम्, dorbhyām) = Unterarm
pada (पद, pada) = Fuß
agra (अग्र, agra) = Spitzen
dvitayam (द्वितयम्, dvitayam) = beiden
grihitva (गृहीत्वा, gṛhītvā) = halten

janu (जानु, jānu) = Knie

lalata (ललाट, lalāṭa) = Stirn
