atha maha bandhah
parshnim vamasya padasya yoni sthane niyojayet |
vamorupari sansthapya dakshinam charanam tatha ||19||

अथ महाबन्धः
पार्ष्णिं वामस्य पादस्य योनिस्थाने नियोजयेत् ।
वामोरूपरि संस्थाप्य दक्षिणं चरणं तथा ॥१९॥

atha mahā-bandhaḥ-
pārṣṇiṁ vāmasya pādasya yoni-sthāne niyojayet |
vāmorūpari saṁsthāpya dakṣiṇaṁ caraṇaṁ tathā ||19||

Jetzt Maha Bandha:
Der Yogi soll die Ferse des linken Fußes an der Region des Beckenbodes platzieren. |
Auf dem linken Oberschenkel wird dann der rechte Fuß platziert. ||19||

atha (अथ, atha) = nun
maha (महा, mahā) = groß, großartig
bandhah (बन्धः, bandhaḥ) = Band, Verschluss, Bandha, Name der Techniken
maha bandha (महाबन्ध, mahā-bandha) = Name der Technik, wörtlich: großartiger Verschluss

parshnim (पार्ष्णिं, pārṣṇiṁ) = (sg. acc) die Ferse
vamasya (वामस्य, vāmasya) = vom linken
padasya (पादस्य, pādasya) = Fuß
yoni (योनि, yoni) = der Vagina, des Perineums, des Beckenbodens
sthane (स्थाने, sthāne) = in der Region
niyojayet (नियोजयेत्, niyojayet) = (optativ sg. 3p. - wie fast alle Anweisungen der HYP) er soll platzieren

vama (वाम, vāma) = links
uru (ऊरु, ūru) = Oberschenkel
upari (उपरि, upari) = auf
sansthapya (संस्थाप्य, saṁsthāpya) = (participle fut. passive) plazieren
dakshinam (दक्षिणं, dakṣiṇaṁ) = der rechte
charanam (चरणं, caraṇaṁ) = Fuß
tatha (तथा, tathā) = so, dann
