atha mula bandhah
parshni bhagena sampidya yonim akunchayed gudam |
apanam urdhvam akrishya mula bandho'bhidhiyate ||61||

अथ मूलबन्धः
पार्ष्णिभागेन सम्पीड्य योनिम् आकुञ्चयेद् गुदम् ।
अपानम् ऊर्ध्वम् आकृष्य मूलबन्धोऽभिधीयते ॥६१॥

atha mūla-bandhaḥ-
pārṣṇi-bhāgena sampīḍya yonim ākuñcayed gudam |
apānam ūrdhvam ākṛṣya mūla-bandho'bhidhīyate ||61||

Nun Mulabandha - der Wurzel-Verschluss
Während der Yogi den Beckenboden mit einem Teil der Ferse presst, soll er den Anus anspannen. |
So wird die absteigende Energie (Apana) nach oben gezogen. Dieses wird der Wurzel-Verschluss (Mulabandha) genannt. ||61||

atha (अथ, atha) = nun, jetzt
mula (मूल, mūla) = Wurzel
bandhah (बन्धः, bandhaḥ) = Bandha, Verschluss, Ventil

parshni (पार्ष्णि, pārṣṇi) = von der Ferse
bhagena (भागेन, bhāgena) = mit dem Teil, mit der Region
sampidya (सम्पीड्य, sampīḍya) = pressen
yonim (योनिम्, yonim) = Vagina, hier: Perineum, Beckenboden
akunchayet (आकुञ्चयेत्, ākuñcayet) = er soll anspannen
gudam (गुदम्, gudam) = den After, den Anus

apanam (अपानम्, apānam) = Apana Vaju, die nach unten fließende Energie / Prana
urdhvam (ऊर्ध्वम्, ūrdhvam) = nach oben
akrishya (आकृष्य, ākṛṣya) = ziehen, saugen
mula (मूल, mūla) = Wurzel
bandhah (बन्धः, bandhaḥ) = Bandha, Verschluss, Ventil
abhidhiyate (अभिधीयते, abhidhīyate) = wird genannt
