Katha Upanishadकठौपनिषद्Kaṭha-UpaniṣadEcerpts from chapter II.iii combined|Devanagari|phonetic|simplified|translation|explanation शतं चैका च हृदयस्य नाड्यस्तासां मूर्धनमभिनिःसृतैका । तयोर्ध्वमायन्नमृतत्वमेति विष्वङ्ङन्या उत्क्रमणे भवन्ति ॥१६॥ śataṁ ca-ikā ca hṛdayasya nāḍyas-tāsāṁ mūrdhanam-abhiniḥsṛta-ikā | tay-ordhvam-āyann-amṛtatvam-eti viṣvaṅṅ-anyā utkramaṇe bhavanti ||16|| There are 101 energy channels (Nadis) of the heart existing. One of them is directed to the skullcap. | Through this one, reaching upwards, immortality (Amrita) can be achieved. All other channels are going to various directions - they are doors to death, exitus doorways. ||16||
