What to expect in this video?

The Primary Series of Ashtanga Vinyasa is also known as Yoga Chikista (yoga therapy), and this practice establishes the foundations of a healthy physical practice.  The Intermediate Series is called Nadi Shodana, and the focus is brought to the energetic body.  It is said that this practice will clear and open your energetic channels. In the Primary Series the practice includes a lot of forward bends and hip openers, but in the Intermediate Series the sequence contains quite a few backbends, some hip openers and inversions.

In this video, Ronald guides you through the entire Intermediate Series with the corresponding traditional Count. In this way you can also move along with the rhythm and flow of the series.  Our yogini Pia is demonstrating the poses in the Traditional Form, which is very demanding because of the required flexibility and strength to execute these asana. If you are not quite ready for this version, we also have a Basic Form available to you.

For whom is this video?

This video is just right for you if,...

  • you've practiced Ashtanga Vinyasa for quite some time
  • you've developed enough strength and
  • you are flexible enough.

In this video, Ronald and Pia demonstrate the entire Intermediate Series. The traditional form begins with Sun Salutations and standing postures. Then Ronald counts you through the 40 asana of the Intermediate Series, and closes the practice with the finishing sequence.

If you prefer to split your practice up, we can recommend the following videos:
