What can you expect from this Video-Tutorial?
Are you feeling a tweaking sensation above the buttocks? Pain in the region of the lower back can be a sign that there is some blockage in the SI joint. When the SI joint is blocked, the flexibility is reduced, which can result in pain.
In this video, Dr. Ronald Steiner introduces you to a therapeutic sequence that can help you to release tension or even possible the blockage altogether, or can at least help to reduce the discomfort.
Warm fascia will help to make space for change
We begin the sequence with fascial massage techniques. Rubbing the lower back will help to generate heat in the region of the lumbar spine. We want to reach the relatively thick sheaths of fascia that move over the SI joint. By warming the fascia, it will be much easier to release tension in the following exercises.
Release the blockage
The exercises that Ron shares with you in this video are easy to do and relaxed. They are targeted at loosening the SI joint and to create space so that perhaps the blockage releases on its own. Important to note is that the piriformis muscle, which crosses over the SI joint, is particularly sensitive to stress. By enjoying a relatively long gentle stretch on this muscle, you might be able to calm the tension that may be contributing to the blockage.

This video tutorial is especially helpful in you are experiencing discomfort in your SI joint, or if a blockage is there. With this sequence it is possible to release the blockage. It could work on the first try, or it may take a while for the joint to loosen up for you to feel any effects. Practice regularly over a period of time and observe how it works in your body.
