How it's done

The practitioner starts by taking a long step with the right leg and turning to the back of their mat. You follow their movement from behind and then stabilize their back leg (for this side it is the the left) with your knees on either side. You want to give just the right amount of support. You don't want to block their further movement and you don't want them to tip over. Stability is created through finding a common balance with the student. 

To assist the twist you will start with your left hand on the practitioners right knee. With your right hand, you can help to guide their arm and shoulder over the thigh. 

Once the practitioner is in their expression of the pose, keep your hand on the knee and place your right arm on the upper side (right side body) of the practitioner and use your forearm to guide the twist in the thoracic spine. Your left hand stays on the right knee to avoid the shoulder from slipping over the knee.
