What can you expect in this video?
Get more familiar with your lumbar spine and create space to explore your mental as well as your physical body in this video. Experience the space you can create in this region of the body when you allow your movement to follow your breath. As you actively draw the floating ribs inward on both the inhale and exhale, it is possible to sense an intense lengthening of the lumbar spine. Observe how different rib actions affect the lower back. Take note of how this conscious change in movement affects your breath. Take extra time to breathe into the areas where you sense that mobility is still limited.
Use the forward bend to help you to work with your own physical limitations in using the affirmation; "Through limitation I can grow. I enjoy my inner limits. I appreciate that I can also choose to go beyond those limits".
Learn how to perceive relief and limitation by drawing your focus inward. Let external input take second place and put yourself first. Experience growth through limitation and how these exercises can help you to perceive limitation in a different way. What connection does the word limitation have for you? How does this feel? Is the experience of limitation new, or perhaps where you find your comfort zone? Perhaps this was quite uncomfortable for you. Is this an area that you would like to explore further? Feel into your limits - the front body through your legs and the back body through the lumbar spine. The limitations are there to help you to sense inward and outward. You are able to be one with yourself as you move breath by breath. Stay aware and discover your own personal limitations. Perhaps you can discover a suitable affirmation to take along with you through your day. Or, you can use ours: "I grow by limitation. I am completely embodied and I bring my focus inward".
