Sentence 12

abhyasa vairagya abhyam tan nirodhah ||12||

अभ्यासवैराग्याभ्यां तन्निरोधः ॥१२॥

abhyāsa-vairāgya-ābhyāṁ tan-nirodhaḥ ||12||

The state of yoga is attained via a balance between assiduousness (abhyasa) and imperturbability (vairagya). ||12||

abhyasa (अभ्यास, abhyāsa) = assiduousness; cheerfulness; practice
vairagya (वैराग्य, vairāgya) = imperturbability; indifference
abhyam (आभ्यां, ābhyāṁ) = both
tan (तन्, tan) = this
nirodha (निरोध, nirodha) = tranquility; tranquility of all mutable things, i.e. attaining the state of yoga.
