Sentence 16

tatparam purusha khyateh guna vaitrishnyam ||16||

तत्परं पुरुषख्यातेः गुणवैतृष्ण्यम् ॥१६॥

tatparaṁ puruṣa-khyāteḥ guṇa-vaitṛṣṇyam ||16||

The highest state of imperturbability arises from the experience of the true self; in this state even the basic elements of nature lose their power over us. || 16||

tat (तत्, tat) = that; which; whose
param (परं, paraṁ) = highest
purusha (पुरुष, puruṣa) = the true self; the immutable self; synonym of drashtu; literally: inhabitant
khyati (ख्याति, khyāti) = understanding; manifestation; consciousness; experience
guna (गुण, guṇa) = the three basic elements of nature
vaitrishnyam (वैतृष्ण्यम्, vaitṛṣṇyam) = (acc. from vaitrishnya (वैतृष्ण्य, vaitṛṣṇya)) state of non-thirst
