pranam ched idaya piben niyamitam bhuyo'nyatha rechayet
pitva pingalaya samiranam atho baddhva tyajed vamaya |
surya chandramasor anena vidhinabhyasam sada tanvatan
shuddha nadi gana bhavanti yaminam masa trayad urdhvatah ||10||

प्राणं चेद् इडया पिबेन् नियमितं भूयोऽन्यथा रेचयेत्
पीत्वा पिङ्गलया समीरणम् अथो बद्ध्वा त्यजेद् वामया ।
सूर्यचन्द्रमसोर् अनेन विधिनाभ्यासं सदा तन्वतां
शुद्धा नाडिगणा भवन्ति यमिनां मासत्रयाद् ऊर्ध्वतः ॥१०॥

prāṇaṁ ced iḍayā piben niyamitaṁ bhūyo'nyathā recayet
pītvā piṅgalayā samīraṇam atho baddhvā tyajed vāmayā |
sūrya-candramasor anena vidhinābhyāsaṁ sadā tanvatāṁ
śuddhā nāḍi-gaṇā bhavanti yamināṁ māsa-trayād ūrdhvataḥ ||10||

Wenn der Yogi die Lebensenergie (Prana) durch den linken Energiekanal (Ida-Nadi) aufgenommen hat, angehalten hat, soll durch er durch den anderen wieder ausgeatmen.
Hat der Yogi durch den rechten Energiekanal (Pingala-Nadi) eingeatmet, den Atem angehalten, soll der durch den linken loslassen. |
Der Yogi soll auf diese Weise mit Sonne und Mond seine Praxis fortsetzen.
Die Energiekanäle (Nadi) des Yogi werden so nach drei Monaten gereinigt. ||10||

pranam (प्राणम्, prāṇam) = Lebensenergie, Prana (प्राण, Prāṇa)
ched (चेद्, ced) = wenn
idaya (इडया, iḍayā) = durch Ida (इड, Iḍa), den Energiekanal der linken Körperhälfte
pibet (पिबेत्, pibet) = aufgenommen wurde
niyamitam (नियमितम्, niyamitam) = angehalten wurde
bhuyh (भूय्ः, bhūyḥ) = wieder
anyatha (अन्यथा, anyathā) = durch den anderen
rechayet (रेचयेत्, recayet) = soll ausatmen

pitva (पीत्वा, pītvā) = eingeatmet haben
pingalaya (पिङ्गलया, piṅgalayā) = durch Pingala, Energiekanal der rechten Körperhälfte
samiranam (समीरणम्, samīraṇam) = Atmen
atho (अथो, atho) = analog
baddhva (बद्ध्वा, baddhvā) = anhalten
tyajed (त्यजेद्, tyajed) = soll los lassen
vamaya (वामया, vāmayā) = durch den linken

surya (सूर्य, sūrya) = Sonne
chandramasoh (चन्द्रमसोः, candramasoḥ) = Mond
anena vidhina (अनेन विधिना, anena vidhinā) = auf diese Weise
abhyasam (अभ्यासम्, abhyāsam) = Praxis
sada (सदा, sadā) = immer
tanvatam (तन्वताम्, tanvatām) = durchführen
sada tatvatam (सदा तत्वतां, sadā tatvatāṁ) = fortsetzen

shuddhah (शुद्धाः, śuddhāḥ) = rein
nadi (नाडी, nāḍī) = Nadi, Energie-Kanal
ganah (गणाः, gaṇāḥ) = Gruppe von
bhavanti (भवन्ति, bhavanti) = werden
yaminam (यमिनाम्, yaminām) = einer der die Yama's einhält. Die Yamas sind Verhaltensregeln, die im ersten Kapitel der Hatha-Yoga Pradipika beschrieben sind. Yogi.
masa (मास, māsa) = Monate
trayat (त्रयात्, trayāt) = drei
