How it's done
Standing slightly behind and to the side of the practitioner, place one leg behind the practitioner and the other leg in from of them in order to build a stable common foundation before beginning the adjustment.
Once the practitioner is in the end position, place your hands on their back and support their breath. Alternatively or additionally, you could gently massage the muscles of the neck to promote softness in that area or to relax unneeded muscular tension.
Effects of this adjustment
- Deepening the breath
- Bringing an element of relaxation into the posture
- A sense of support as you balance in the posture together
