How it's done?
Stand next to the practitioner with a wide stance and place one leg in front of and the other behind the practitioner. Support the practitioner with your front leg and ensure that they are not tipping forward. Support the torso with your arms on the lower back. This will provide a sense of safety to the student.
Holding onto the shoulders, gently lead the student's arms from the shoulder outwards and forwards. The head should be relaxed and stretching down towards the floor to allow more room for the shoulder blades to move.
Effect of the adjustment
- New experience in the pose for the practitioner
- Creating space and length in neck and shoulder region
- Developing a sense of security and trust
