aparigraha sthairye janma kathanta sanbodhah ||39||

अपरिग्रहस्थैर्ये जन्मकथंता संबोधः ॥३९॥

aparigraha-sthairye janma-kathaṁtā saṁbodhaḥ ||39||

The permanent reign of non-covetousness (aparigraha) engenders knowledge concerning the goal of earthly life. ||39||

aparigraha (अपरिग्रह, aparigraha) = non-covetousness; non-acceptance of gifts
sthairye (स्थैर्ये, sthairye) = (from sthairya (स्थैर्य, sthairya)) stability
janma (जन्म, janma) = birth; consequences of birth; incarnation; earthly life
kathanta (कथंता, kathaṁtā) = (from katham (कथं, kathaṁ)) the how and why; goal
sanbodhah (संबोधः, saṁbodhaḥ) = (nom. from sanbodha (संबोध, saṁbodha)) understanding; knowledge
