तस्य हेतुरविद्या ॥२४॥

tasya hetur-avidyā ||24||

The root cause of identification with the mutable is a lack of insight (avidya). ||24||

tasya (तस्य, tasya) = (g. sg. n./g. sg. m. from tad (तद्, tad)) whose
hetuh (हेतुः, hetuḥ) = (nom. sg. m. from hetu (हेतु, hetu)) cause
avidya (अविद्या, avidyā) = (nom. sg. f.) ignorance; confusion; lack of insight
