The infrahyoidale muskulatur, consists of the Musculus sternohyoideus, Musculus sternothyroideus, Musculus thyrohyoideus and Musculus omohyoideus. These muscles all thogether are of significance in regards to swallowing. They all together divert the hyoid bone down and - except for the Musculus thyrohyoideus - also the voice box and also play a role wiht phonation. The Musculus thyrohyoideus on the other hand diverts the voice box up, given the hyoid bone is fixated. Further the Musculus omohyoideus spans the Lamina pretrachealis of the throat fascia, which is connected with it's between tendon.
