The Yogin develops discernment (viveka) between it's pure essence (puruṣa) and its perceptual space (citta). From this arises inner freedom (kaivalya).

Observe the difference between your perceptual space (citta) and your essence of being (puruṣa). You will see that your essence is not the perceptual space.

Dr. Ronald Steiner - modern transfer

For those who have attained this differentiating vision (viśeṣa-darśin) [between (citta) and (puruṣa)], [arises] the disappearance of imagination (bhāvanā-nivr̥tti) of being [of (citta)] as a true self (ātman-bhāvana).

Dr. Ronald Steiner - historic word by word translation

Für den, welcher die Verschiedenheit [des Purusha vom Cittam] erkennt, schwindet der Wahn, dass es [das Cittam] der Âtman sei.

Paul Deussen - 1908

The cessation of the (false) notion regarding the soul takes place in him who knows the difference.

James R. Ballantyne - 1852

When your perceptual space (citta) has reached this level of distinction (viveka), you will experience inner freedom (kaivalya).

Dr. Ronald Steiner - modern transfer

Then the perceptual space (citta) is inclined to differentiate (viveka). [So, there is] a tendency towards liberation (kaivalya).

Dr. Ronald Steiner - historic word by word translation

Dann wird das Cittam, durch diese Unterscheidung in Fluß gebracht, den Bergabhang der Erlösung hinabströmen.

Paul Deussen - 1908

Then the mind becomes deflected towards discrimination bowed down towards (or by) isolation.
