The second chapter of Svatmarama’s Hatha yoga Pradipika, „Dvitiyo Padeshah“, tells us about Pranayama, Kumbhaka and Sat-Kriya as well as Sat-Karma.

Sentence 60

sanyak padmasanam baddhva sama-grivodarah sudhih |"
mukham sanyanya yatnena pranam ghranena rechayet ||60||

सम्यक् पद्मासनं बद्ध्वा समग्रीवोदरः सुधीः ।"
मुखं संयम्य यत्नेन प्राणं घ्राणेन रेचयेत् ॥६०॥

samyak padmāsanaṁ baddhvā sama-grīvodaraḥ sudhīḥ ।"
mukhaṁ saṁyamya yatnena prāṇaṁ ghrāṇena recayet ॥60॥

Nachdem er ordentlich den Lotussitz gefaltet hat, den Nacken und Bauch aufgerichtet, |
soll der Weise, den Mund geschlossen, kraftvoll den Lebenshauch durch die Nase ausatmen. |||60||


samyak = ordentlich, richtig
padmāsanaṁ = Lotussitz
baddhvā = gebunden, gefaltet, hier: eingenommen
sama = aufgerichtet, ausgerichtet, gleichmäßig
grīva = Nacken
udaraḥ = Bauch
sudhīḥ = der Weise

mukham = der Mund
saṁyamya = geschlossen, verschlossen
yatnena = kraftvoll
prāṇam = Lebenshauch, Luft, Atem, Energie
ghrāṇena = durch die Nase
recayet = er soll ausatmen
